Roundtable

Just a reminder, we have Roundtable coming up this Thursday October 8th at Union College, 7:00.  We are in the Patridge Campus Center Building, second floor, “Heritage Room”.  Let’s do something special this time, let’s have a snack and finger food competition.  All who are coming are welcome to participate.  It is late and most have just gotten off work.  Let’s have some snack available.  I will have prizes for best Snack!  If you plan to bring a snack please let me know as we want to make sure there is enough for everyone.

**Note:  I will have Re-charters available at this meeting.  Please send at least on representative out to get your Re-charter.  We will also be discussing information on the October 17th Cub Leader Training/Shooting Sports day.  We will begin looking at the Polar Bear swim for cubs, and progress more on the Klondike Derby for Boy Scouts.  Should be a great meeting.**

2009 Cub Campout a huge success!

First off I want to thank everyone who had a hand in putting the Cub Campout on.  It was a great event!  We had nearly 125 Cubscouts and over 300 total people there!  Everyone had a blast!  Special thanks go out to Bryan Frederick, Patty Brock, Shawn Miller, Kelli Sharp, and all who helped them in their individual dens.  A very special thank you to Bill Sharp for chairing and organizing the event.  We also want to thank Cumberland Gap National Park for allowing us to experience their wonderful facility and being open to Scouting.

Imagine having hands-on knowledge setting up a campsite, pitching a tent, hiking, outdoor cooking - all the skills necessary to see the outdoor program of the Boy Scouts of America come to life.

The skills sessions presented in Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills closely follow the Boy Scout Handbook and are meant to serve as an adult training outline. By using these skills sessions in
