We are in search of a troop for our son Adrien. We recently moved from Maine and were involved in the cub scouts last year. He crossed over to a Bear Scout just before we left. We moved to Berea and want to know if there is a troop for him this up coming year.

Any information would be appreciated. You can email me or call me at 859-756-3464

Thank you,

Hey Becky, first of all I would like to congratulate you and your staff on the remarkable job you are doing with the District. It must be a nightmare trying to organize everything. Keep up the good work. My wife and I were wondering how many scouts do we have in our District.

So here is my comment,

I earned the rank of Eagle Scout at age 13. Very few people have ever done that. I only know of 3 in our district that have ever earned Eagle at 13 years old. There are several people that think you should be at least 16 years old to go for your Eagle Scout Board of Review.I highly disagree with them, and I've had arguments with people over this before. Their argument is always the same, "their too young". Well guess what..... They are not. If the Scout has completed everything that is required of him to earn Eagle, then he is most likely deserving of the award. Now when I argue with people over this subject, here is what I tell them. Most 18 year old Eagles, wait till the last minute, mostly because they don't have enough focus on it. Or, because their parents finally said, "do it, or else". Why tell a scout that he's too young, even though he's done all the work, and made known to everyone his leadership skills. I was that scout. I did all the work, and I made known to my fellow scouts the work I did, and the leadership skills I learned. I was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 13. Since then, scouting is more than a hobby, or a pass time, its a life. Because I was so young, it opened so manys doors for me. Scouting since then has been a "world event". It's taken me across the world. That's just a little futher than most have to drive to McKee.

My hope goes out to Kelby, I hope he will understand that becoming an Eagle Scout, is beyond great.
