FOOD * FUN * FELLOWSHIP
Pack 111 celebrated in style at the Blue Gold Banquet! We have had a lot to celebrate..our Pack is growing, our parents are involved, our Scouts are having fun! I would like to thank the Sheltowee Drum and Dance team for providing a outstanding demonstration of Native American customs. I also wanted say thank you to all the families that participated in the father and son cake bake…together we raised over $300 dollars toward our Pack and our Family FOS.

Designed for Eagle Scouts, Sea Scout Quartermasters, or Venturing Scouts that have earned the Silver Award, this program challenges participants to learn about the sacrifices made to establish and protect the ideals of a free society. In addition to discussions and guest lectures on current issues of citizenship, patriotism, leadership, and heroism, the program includes tours of Colonial Philadelphia and Valley Forge National Park.

I received this information from Tyler Vogt at Pikeville College. The program is hosted by the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine. This looks like a great course for leaders or any adult who does a lot of outdoor or high adventure activities.

I apologize for not getting this up sooner… the scanner has been on the fritz. Anyway, great job by the pack, and great publicity for Scouting in the district!

First, let me clear up some confusion about the Annual District Banquet. I failed to put the time for the event in the last email. That event will take place this Thursday, February 5, at 7:00 pm. Note that the date is wrong on the bgbsa.org website. The banquet will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Prestonsburg, next to Jerry’s Restaurant.
Second, Ricky Music has asked me to include a reminder that he needs names and shirt sizes for ALL participants in Operation Clean Sweep. T-Shirts will be provided for anyone who helps with the cleanup, but the list for your unit is needed by the night of the Banquet (this Thursday).
