Fishing Trip: August 07, 2010

COME JOIN US FOR SOME FISHING!

LOCATION: Frazier Farm (HWY 830)

TIME: 10:00 AM

NOTE: You will need to bring your fishing pole and bait. We will practice catch and release. The cost will be $3.00 per Cub Scout.

DIRECTIONS: Take East 80, passing Bush Elementary on the left. At Jimbo’s Grocery turn right onto HWY 830/Rough Creek Road. You will travel around 2 miles passing Paddock Downs Subdivision the Frazier Farm will be on the right. The farmhouse sets back quite a bit from the road and the house is white with red shudders. If you come upon the intersection of 830 and 1189 you have gone to far.

GAME FARM ACTIVITY - 8/16/2010

Troop 1 will be meeting at the Game farm on Monday, August 16 instead of at the 1st Christian Church.

Scouts will be notified with details by the patrol leader.

  • Depart from Peaks Mill School at 4:30pm SHARP
  • Return to Peaks Mill School approximately 12:30am
  • Event is open to immediate family members too.
  • Wear FULL CLASS A uniform & pack class B to change into after flag ceremony is over.

Lexington Legends/Camp on Field - 8/20

  • Troop 1 will be attending the Lexington Legends game and camping on the field afterwards.  We will be doing the Pepsi Party Deck Package.
  • Depart from KOHL’S parking lot at 5:20pm
  • Return to KOHL’S parking lot on Saturday at 8:30am
  • Wear Class A uniform

TROOP CAMPOUT - 8/13 — 8/15

  • Troop Campout on the Carroll property along Elkhorn Creek.
  • Planning for campout at the August 9th  troop meeting
  • DEPART: 1st Christian Church at 6:00pm - Friday, August 13
  • RETURN: 1st Christian Church at 12:00pm - Sunday, August 15

Trainer’s Development Conference- July 17th

Don’t forget about the Trainer’s Development Conference being held this Saturday, July 17th, from 8:30-4:30 at Mt. Vernon!  The conference is only $10 and includes all your material and lunch.  The location is at Lighthouse Assembly of God behind Jean’s Restaurant in Mt. Vernon.

The success of your pack or troop will primarily depend on the quality of the trained leadership you have at the helm.  The best way for you to have trained leadership is to have a pack or troop trainer that can train all your incoming leadership on a schedule that fits your unit!  Please consider sending someone from your unit to this training!

DEN MEETING [July 26, 2010]: BICYCLE SAFETY

The Den Meeting that will be occurring on Monday, July 26, 2010, will be covering bicycle safety.

You will need the following items:

  • bicycle (training wheels are welcome)
  • elbow pads
  • knee pads
  • helmet

The meeting will be at Victory Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m.
